For two weeks, no film could dethrone The Lion King 3D. Last weekend, four new films were released but didn’t manage to move The Lion King. This week, not one of the new released films managed to break the top three or dethrone the new number one film.The new number is last week’s new release Dolphin Tale. Last week it was at number three and now, it rose to the top leaving The Lion King in number two and Brad Pitt’s Moneyball in third place. Coming in at fourth is the new film 50/50 which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen. It got $9 million. In fifth place is the Christian film Courageous. The two other films to open this week were Dream House which landed in 6th place with $8 million and Anna Farris’ What’s Your Number in 8th place with ..Drive got booted out of the top ten this week. Along with Drive, The Help, Straw Dogs and I Don’t Know How She Does It were also out of the list. Abduction, Taylor Lautner’s first solo action film lost about 50% of its audience. The same goes for Killer Elite which dropped from 5th to 10th place while abduction dropped from 4th to 7th place.week, we will see the opening of Hugh Jackman’s robot boxing film Real Steel along with possible Oscar nominee Ides of March which stars George Clooney and Ryan Reynolds. Also coming out next week in a limited capacity are Blackthorn with Sam Shepard, Intruders with Clive Owen, Martha Marcy May Marlene and Human Centipede 2. Check out the top ten list below:
