Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 4, Episode 6 Nomad Droids

The Grand Army of the Republic, led by Yoda, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and other Jedi Knights, fights the New Droid Army of the Separatists. We start out with a teaser with Space Ghost. Yes that Space Ghost. For those uninformed, Space Ghost was a super hero in outer space, who teamed up with his sidekicks Jan and Jace, and their monkey Blip, it aired in the 1960s, produced by Hanna-Barbera and then later acquired by DC Comics, which is why he is teaming up with Batman. They fight the Creature King, who I kind of remember but its been years since I have seen any Space Ghost. The teaser was okay, not one of my favorites, but one of the worst. Then we cut to a room where Plastic Man, Green Arrow, and Aquaman have been put on ice by Batman villain Mr. Freeze and they are about ready to be reduced to human Popsicles. Obviously it is just a matter of time before Batman swoops in and saves the day, because he's Batman and that's what he does. So the three heroes are trying to fight a way out, all while telling their origin stories.First we have Green Arrow, who tells about how he teamed with Batman for the first time when he was in his dark, broody, loner phase. Batman is on the hunt for the Cavalier who has kidnapped Ruby Ryder, a rich heiress. But its a trap, as Ruby Ryder was working with Cavalier to get the ransom money so its a fake kidnapping. Batman and Green Arrow work together to foil their evil, deceitful schemes. Them they muse about future team ups, but decide against it. Given that they have teamed up numerous times in this show, its obvious that did not go as intended. Irony much. This was decent enough if a bit on the cliche side. Still not as bad as it could have been.
Second we have Plastic Man and Batman teaming up for the first time against Baby-Face and his gang. Baby-face, essentially a man's body with a baby face and the most stereotypical gangster voice ever, see. Kind of can see how this character might be creepy for some children. Plastic Man tries to go into Baby-Face's gang undercover but the gangster is really a bit too clever for that. So Plastic Man is in a fix and Batman is not too pleased, as Plastic Man was fighting crime against his orders. Still it tended to work out in the end.Now we get the one that I was looking forward to, Aquaman. It is Aquaman and Batman against Black Manta. Aquaman is without his epic beard, as it is so long ago. Now that's outrageous. Aquaman's escalating story of the number of henchmen and sharks Black Manta has escalates to even more absurd numbers. Sadly this fish story is cut short, when Mr. Freeze enters the room to finish off the trio. Freeze appears to be the composite of two of the three actors that played the villain in the Adam West Batman show. The freeze suit is George Sanders and the line, "revenge, I must have my revenge", is pretty much ripped out of the show so much from that first Mr. Freeze episode with George Sanders that you swear it was just dubbed into. The accent seems to be the second Mr. Freeze in the Adam West show, Otto Preminger, and he yells "wild", which Mr. Preminger did several times in his episode as the frosty felon.
Naturally Batman swoops in and saves the day. Other than flashbacks, Batman only appears for a few minutes. In many ways, this was just like, The Sword of the Atom, where Batman kind of took a backseat to other characters. Mr. Freeze and his henchmen are dispatched and a captive Mr. Freeze has Aquaman to keep him company. And leave it to good old Aquaman to finish his story. And that be that episode.Thoughts on the Episode: A fairly above average effort for Batman the Brave and the Bold Season 3 Episode 9 Bold Beginnings. Its not on my all time greatest list but I won't really complain about watching it again, if I get a chance. Give this episode a nice and solid, 7/10 rating, some parts dragged, but overall not too bad. Still be sure to watch Batman the Brave and the Bold Season 3 Episode 9 Bold Beginnings when you have a chance.
